4 Reasons to Start a Home-based Travel Agency Business

Many small business owners get trapped in their business. They soon find out that its not as glamorous or easy as they thought. And, thats why most small businesses fold within the first three years. There is one small business, however, where the opposite happens. What is it? Travel agency ownership. Following are four reasons why owning your own travel agency makes those who enter this profession wonder why they didnt start sooner.

The World Is Your Customer: You need customers to thrive as a business. When you start your own travel agency, finding customers is a breeze because the world is your customer base. This is not a business that is constrained by the clock, the season or any particular hour of the day. You can book travel locally or internationally, and you can do it 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.

This is a particular advantage for new business owners because no matter when you decide to start your business, your services will always be in demand.

Make Money All the Time: Travel is not a 9-5 business; it is an around-the-clock business. Customers go online to book travel for family reunions, honeymoons, graduation cruises and more every minute of every day. What does this mean for you? That when you own your own travel agency, you can make money all the time. You cant say that for a lot of businesses.

Travel Discounts for You: When you start your own travel agency, you receive discounts on your own travel. Its like your business paying you to do business! You receive huge discounts on airline tickets, luxury hotels, fine restaurants and more. This is, in fact why many started home-based travel agencies. Because they love to travel, they decide, Why not capitalize on it and make some money at the same time.

Friends and Family Get a Discount Too! Not only do you receive discounts on your travel, your friends and family do as well when you own your own travel agency. When they book their travel through your site, you even earn a commission. Thats a winning situation everyone can be happy about!

Viral Marketing Examples, What is it and How Does Viral Marketing Work?

What is this term Viral we have been hearing so much about? It sounds bad? What is a Viral video? We will cover these and other questions in this article. We will also go through a real live example of how a viral video can spread.

Lets start with a definition. I quote wikipedia here: “Viral marketing and viral advertising refer to marketing techniques that use pre-existing social networks to produce increases in brand awareness or to achieve other marketing objectives (such as product sales) through self replicating viral processes, similar to the spread of pathological and/or computer viruses.

Long story short it is a way to use the already established media channels as a means of distributing your message. Just genius.

So what about a fat kid singing is viral, and why should something like that go viral? Well lets go through an example and use this child “Brian” as the example.

It goes like this. Brian uploads to Youtube. Bethany posts Brian’s video on her Myspace. All her friends see her myspace and post it on theirs and the virus begins to spread.

Now that the process has started it will be replicated on the other social media sites and distributed as far as possible and the virus is growing. Social bookmarking, blogs and email chains can make the process explode!

So can you make any money with this info? Well lets just say if you do it right, like Frank Kern for example, you can make about 3 million in a day like he does. Or even a few hundred would be cool to most!

The others are probably hatching a plan to get their crazy video out there and become famous. To that I say more power to you.

Keep it up, go out there and make a million and get a million hits.

MLM Business: Worth a Second Look

Multilevel marketing, now more popularly known as MLM business, is a system wherein a person gathers people who, like him, are interested in being entrepreneurs. Together, they sell products. The person who started the business would be the “upline”, while the rest of his network is the “downline.” From them, the upline gets a commission of sorts. Before, the MLM business was remotely related to pyramiding scams, but really, it is a fairly great business plan and very much legal. Everybody can do it. And the fact that you don’t have to be anyone important or be rich to invest attracted a lot of people to venture into the MLM business.

Two Sides of a Coin

The main concept of being in the MLM business is that you cut out the middleman from the picture by going straight to the supplier, giving them direct access to the market without large costs. In doing so, consumers get their products at a much lesser cost without compromising the quality of the items. These two things mentioned above are the key targets of the MLM business – that is to say, quality products without hurting the budget.

Recall the days when your mom had people over all the time for Tupperware or Avon parties. Those people were the pioneers of the MLM business. And it worked out just fine for them, didn’t it?

Finding one that suits you

Be very meticulous when it comes to picking out the MLM business that would benefit you. One should pick and probe to avoid any involvement with an illegal MLM business. Putting your heart, mind, and soul into this business would make managing it even easier. Also, don’t hesitate to ask help if ever you need any, especially from the people around you.

One way of making sure that the MLM business you are in is legitimate is to determine if your profit actually comes from your hard work and not mostly from your downline’s sales. If it is, it’s better if you leave that MLM business pronto! For sure, you are in a pyramid scam and that does not, under any circumstances, serve your best interests.

Serious Entrepreneurs Don’t Need Toilet Paper

Most, if not all, entrepreneurs have their own Cinderella stories: from living on welfare and waiting tables, to making their first million before they’re 30 and owning jets.

While all these stories arouse feelings hope and inspiration, the trek up the road to success is really a bit more nasty.

Consider the approach taken by Mike Michalowicz, and ask yourself, “Am I a ‘Toilet Paper Entrepreneur’?”

Mike compares true entrepreneurialism to a typical bathroom experience: “business” is done and you discover only 3 sheets of TP left on the roll! Necessity breeds invention if you want to leave the rest room smelling like a rose.

He adds that successful and serious entrepreneurs are not those who sit around and wait for someone to hand them a “roll of toilet paper”.

They take matters into their own hands and search within reach that they use. If you must, dig through the garbage, or use the roll of cardboard instead and move on.

Moreover, serious entrepreneurs make it a habit of not making excuses and are impatient to those people who do.

You’ll never hear them say

“I don’t have enough money right now.”

“I’m not smart enough for that.”

“I don’t have the time. I’m too busy.”

“Businesses take too long to build.”

“There’s too much risk involved. I’m too scared.”

“I’m too old for this.”

Serious entrepreneurs don’t just sit and dream about when their big break would come, but they get off their butts and make it happen.

They don’t sit on their money, waiting for it to grow on their own. They’ll go out and make their own moneymaking ventures, whether it’s selling lemonade by the street, or setting microchips in Silicone Valley.

And if you think that they’re off burning their millions, think again! Warren Buffett, who is, according to Forbes, the third richest person in the world, lives in the same $31,500 home that he brought four decades ago, in Omaha, Nebraska.

Successful Entrepreneurs do not multi-task. They’re like bulldogs: they’ll latch on to one thing until it’s good and done proper.

They aren’t perfectioniststhey say, “Good is good enough.”

And that’s because they have learned that money likes speed.

They know that if they sit around and do and erase and redo and re-erase, by the time they finish their product, their competition would have swooped in, cornered the market, and left them no room at all.

They don’t spend the bulk of their time thinking, planning, and revising they take action.

They are thrill seekers, but they have gone out of their way to calculate the risks involved.

The founder of Feedburner.com, Dick Costolo once said, “The secret is to simply ride on the bike, just get on the bike without much thought of the reasons you could fall off. Just get on and pedal. You can grab a map, a tire pump, and better shoes while you’re at it.”

Serious Entrepreneurs do not need toilet paper.

Why so? Because for sure they have a napkin to spare in one of their pockets with another million dollar project written on the other side.
